Points of interest: between shopping, festivals and Austin, it's a challenge just keep up

You’ll quickly find there’s always something happening nearby.

Drive just 20 miles south and you’ll reach two famed San Marcos outlet malls. Enjoy great shopping at Southpark Meadows. Slide north to Austin and you’ll discover even more places to shop. Buda is a small town, but it boasts huge activity in the middle of the Hill Country.

As you’ll quickly find while living in Buda, there’s always something happening. The Budafest, the Buda Fine Arts Festival, Bo-Da Halloween and the nationally known Weiner Dog Races, just to name a few. Or you can just relax at the Summer Movies and Music Series held at Buda City Park.

But let’s not forget Buda’s outdoor activities. The new 52-acre Buda Sportsplex features an impressive trail system, a fishing pond, large playground, pavilion, 4 baseball/softball fields, and of course, picnic tables. Next to the park, is the Hays Communities Family Branch YMCA. The 51-acre Historic Stagecoach Park, currently under construction, will include trails, a pond, playground, windmill, nature parks, a wildflower meadow and amphitheater when complete.
